FAQ
Real Answers, No Guesswork
How Optimizer actually decides what to recommend, how to get started, and what happens to your data.
Getting Started
How do I connect my account?
Click "Connect Your Account" and authorize through Amazon. You'll go through three separate authorizations, one per Amazon Ads region (North America, Europe, and Far East), so Optimizer can see your whole real account, including marketplaces you haven't expanded into yet.
What do I have to do to get started?
Connect your account, let the first data pull finish (15 to 30+ minutes depending on account size), then upload your KDP royalty report so Optimizer can calculate your real, per-book break-even. Full recommendations build in during the next weekly processing run.
What's the difference between Maintenance and Growth?
Maintenance ($29/mo) covers steady-state accounts: weekly negation and bid recommendations, pause suggestions, 90 days of ACOS/TACOS history, per-book break-even targets, and collaborator access.
Growth ($59/mo) adds approve-and-execute (approved changes go straight to your Amazon account via the API), keyword harvesting, bid ceilings, portfolio performance tracking, and 12 months of history.
How Recommendations Work
Does Optimizer ever act on my account without me approving it first?
No. Every single recommendation requires your explicit approval before anything reaches Amazon, always. Nothing executes automatically, on any tier.
How does Optimizer decide when to negate a keyword?
Only after real, sustained spend with zero purchases over a meaningful window, never a single bad day. Negation is a one-way action, so it requires more cumulative evidence than other recommendation types.
How does Optimizer decide when to increase a bid?
Only when a keyword is already converting efficiently, comfortably below its real break-even. The goal is scaling what's already proven to work, not guessing.
Why does a recommendation sometimes say "early signal, not yet proven"?
Because the evidence is honestly thinner for some things. A single early conversion is worth surfacing as a real, low-cost opportunity, but it isn't treated the same as a proven, repeated pattern. We'd rather show you the real strength of the evidence than overstate it.
How is break-even calculated?
Per book, from its real format, list price, and royalty rate, not a generic industry rule of thumb. A $4.99 ebook and a $14.99 paperback genuinely have different break-even points, and recommendations respect that.
Billing & Data
Does my data get shared with anybody?
No, not in the way most people worry about. We don't sell or rent your data, and we never share your advertising data with anyone for their own marketing purposes. Your information only goes to the real services needed to run the product: Amazon (when a change you approved is sent to your account), our payment processor, our email provider, and our hosting provider, all under contract to protect it. See our
Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. You can disconnect your account or cancel whenever you'd like, no contract, no lock-in.
